Mere Do Anmol Ratan , Ek hai Youtube toh duja iPhone!!

What on this earth could I have possibly done without these two?? There can actually be a day I can starve(though remotely bleak) but I just cant seem to survive without these. Su and ashu called me a walking-database for some solid reasons I apprehend. :-) You enter my room, no matter what time of the day it is, you would actually notice me watching some random video on youtube!! (Not to forget, those horrendous volumes I blasted my headfones at) Wait a minute. When I say," Random" believe you me, it is genuinely some lame a** video I am seeing. It takes guts to come up with something crazy and then upload it! (It does!)  And mind you, my concentration is at its peak (haha) I will not only note the video for its content but also the following comments, counter-retorting comments, (if its a good day and am not in a crunch to attend other videos that long for my attention, may be I will go through each comment here), related videos and those snippets of ads that appear above those. (As my hubby taunts at times, I have some curious gleam in my eyes even as I watch those irritating 15-30 secs ads before the video plays)

Whilst I was in India, I never resorted to this tool much. May be once in a month somewhere to check some gathering videos/ some trailer anna said is very interesting and those damn channels just dont feature them oft. Indian TV and its vast number of channels provided enough fodder for my daily quota of entertainment. The scenario changed big time, when I came to USC in Fall 2007. The very first semester I was so cramped with adjusting to everything, immense home sickness, roomie issues(Blahh!), diverse cultures, so called associated work ethics with my on campus job, course loads.Fall 2007 still gives me the chills, my first semester was a big deal for me! When I cleared sem 1, as paa would quote, I had called and made it sound totally filmy...ekdum "Maa, tumhari beti 3.2 GPA se clear ho gayi maaaaaaaaaa" types. Ohh, am all lost again. So where was I? Hmmm, my tryst with youtube!! I do remember watching "JAB WE MET" and "OM SHANTI OM" on youtube then. And I was like "OMG! the quality is just so awesome. Its almost been like what a month these released and here I am watching them at my sweet convenience sipping kerns guava nectar and eating dorritos nachos. Not to mention, the baap speed of 6 Mbps to myself! Life IS good!)  Fall 2008 was pretty much relaxing( Ohh No no! Not the courses! :D They were as tough as before, its just that by now I made really good friends, found myself a better apartment and came to terms with all my blues. So I was pretty much at peace) YouTube was like Full-On now! Movies, trailers, celebrity interviews, funny videos ranging from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. It was like my saving grace. Assignments gave me a hard time still, however now I no longer felt so oppressed you know. :-) I had my Youtube to bail me out of all the blues. It is then, that I actually bookmarked a few videos like some regional tracks, some clever 30 sec advertisements that immediately transported me to some happy place in a zap! Life was beautiful again. I don't have to venture in search for new videos. I would be content watching those few specials again and again and giggle. uncontrollably. Asavari, my roommate then would find it like " Ehh! So boring!" while Suvarna, my neighbour then would join me at times and be like bwahahahahahahahaha. I then knew one thing. I met my partner in random-video-watching-and-bwahaha'in-crime :-)

Since then, Youtube has catered to a LOT of my needs. (Educative)University Lectures, (Sustainability) Cooking shows (I was actually forced to cook in fall 2008 as I moved in with Suvarna and Asavari. I shall cover those stories some time later), (Grooming)beauty tutorials(Not those high funda smoky eye tutorials man! Those simple how to tie your hair in a plait or how to apply a eyeliner/kajal without ending up with raccoon eyes...hehe). Though some actually mock me for my immense love for youtubing, I personally think its changed my life big time!

Ohh Mannnnnnnnnnnnnn....this post has spanned like a 50 lines. Wrapping it up in a jiffy, let me add a few lines on my iPhone. Its no iPhone 4 but my hubby's old iPhone 3 :D All I do besides attending numerous calls, using Google Maps at times if I am lost( I am disoriented big time) and playing Angry Birds
(Awesome app btw), I just log onto YouTube through it....hehehe. I get extremely irritated though if I get a call suddenly in the middle of a video, then I have to face some playing issues, but its totally worth it. Thanks to ATNT wireless 3G and data plan, I again have my headfones on and I watch youtube like there's no 2mw. (This one time I saw the entire Hum Aapke hain kaun.....WITH those 16 songs on my iPhone. For the sake of it!)

I can never ever do without these! Nope Nope, never!! <3 <3
